The family visit — America's most common trip
Around 700,000 people of Pakistani origin live in the United States — most in the New York area, then Houston and Washington. That is why many Pakistanis fly to America: to see children, grandchildren and the wider family.
Those visits tend to be long. On a B1/B2 visitor visa, the admission period written on your I-94 at entry is commonly six months. That is why we carry a 50 GB plan that lasts 180 days — no new SIM or recharge halfway through.
The house will have Wi-Fi, but a doctor's appointment, the mosque, the grocery store or the school run all need your own data for Maps and WhatsApp — without living on somebody else's hotspot.
Verizon and AT&T — where the coverage reaches
This eSIM runs on two of America's biggest networks, Verizon and AT&T. The phone picks whichever signal is stronger, which matters in a country this size.
You get 4G and 5G in New York, New Jersey, Houston, Dallas, Chicago, Washington, Los Angeles and the other cities, with coverage along the highways. Very rural areas and national parks can be weaker, as on every network.
This plan's data reaches the internet from inside the US. In practice that means Uber, Google Maps and local search treat you as being in America — the results are for your city.
Landing at JFK, Houston, Chicago or Dulles
- Uber or Lyft — both run at every major US airport, and are often cheaper than a yellow cab.
- Telling whoever is collecting you which terminal and door you are at — not easy at a big airport.
- Letting the family in Pakistan know you have landed.
- Your connecting gate and time, if the journey continues.
At airports the size of JFK or Houston (IAH), telling your family the right terminal and door is genuinely hard, and Uber's pickup zone is shown only in the app — so you want data in the arrivals hall itself. Airport Wi-Fi often wants an ad view or a sign-up.
The time difference and video calls
New York is 9 or 10 hours behind Pakistan, and Houston and Chicago 10 or 11 (depending on daylight saving). When it is 9 pm in New York it is about 6 or 7 am in Pakistan, so video calls home often happen late at night or early in the morning — sometimes when you are away from Wi-Fi.
WhatsApp, FaceTime and video calls work normally in America. An hour of WhatsApp video uses roughly 300 to 700 MB, so if you call home every day, size the plan for it.
How much cheaper than Jazz roaming and Holafly
Jazz's international roaming bundle, which covers the USA, charges Rs. 7,767.50 including tax for 3 GB over 30 days. Our USA 3 GB for 30 days is Rs. 1,290.
Holafly, an international eSIM brand, sells only unlimited plans for America, on AT&T and T-Mobile: $27.50 for 7 days (about Rs. 7,650), $50.50 for 15 days (about Rs. 14,000) and $73.90 for 30 days (about Rs. 20,550). You pay in dollars by card, with your bank's foreign transaction charge on top, and hotspot sharing is capped at 1 GB a day. Our 5 GB for 30 days is Rs. 1,890 — and 50 GB for a six-month visit is Rs. 18,990, less than one month of Holafly.
And leaving mobile data on while roaming without a bundle is the most expensive mistake there is. With the eSIM, keep data roaming off on your Pakistani line — calls and SMS still reach your Pakistani number.
About a US local SIM
Prepaid SIMs are easy to buy in America, in a store or online. But a monthly plan usually starts above $25 before tax, and fitting one means taking out your Pakistani SIM if the phone has a single slot, after which bank OTPs and texts from home stop arriving.
If you are moving to America for good, a local plan is the right answer. For a visit — two weeks or six months — the eSIM is cheaper and simpler: nothing to swap out, nothing to register.
How much data to take
- A week-long business trip: 1 to 3 GB.
- Two to three weeks with your children, on their home Wi-Fi: 5 GB — what most people choose.
- Half an hour of video calling a day (roughly 5 to 10 GB a month) plus Maps: 10 GB.
- Travelling as a family, or sharing a hotspot: 20 GB.
- A visit of three to six months: 50 GB for 180 days — the Long Stay Pack.
Validity starts when the eSIM first connects to a network in America, not on the day you buy it. Installing before you fly is completely safe.

Common questions
Can I buy a USA eSIM in Pakistan?
Yes. Pay in rupees, receive the QR on WhatsApp within about two minutes, and install it at home. Data starts when it connects in America — on Verizon or AT&T, up to 5G.
Which network does this eSIM use?
Verizon and AT&T, two of America's biggest networks. The phone picks whichever signal is stronger.
What should I take for a six-month family visit?
On a B1/B2 visa, the length of stay is set by the CBP officer at entry and written on your I-94 — commonly up to six months. For a visit that long, take the 50 GB Long Stay Pack, which lasts 180 days.
When is a good time to video call Pakistan from America?
New York is 9 or 10 hours behind Pakistan, Houston and Chicago 10 or 11. Nine at night in New York is six or seven in the morning in Pakistan — the usual time families talk.
Do WhatsApp calls work in America?
Yes. WhatsApp, FaceTime and video calls work normally in the USA. An hour of video calling uses roughly 300 to 700 MB.
Will my Pakistani number stop working with a USA eSIM?
No. The eSIM is a second line, so your Pakistani SIM stays in the phone and bank OTPs and texts from home keep arriving. Keep data roaming off on the Pakistani line to avoid a bill.
Do I get a US phone number?
No, this is a data-only eSIM. Calls go over WhatsApp or any app that runs on data. A US number comes with a local SIM.
Does the eJurs USA eSIM work in Canada?
No. This plan works in the United States only, not in Canada. If your trip includes Canada, tell eJurs on WhatsApp.
What if my USA eSIM runs out of data?
Message eJurs on WhatsApp and a new data pack is added to the same eSIM, at its listed price. There is no new eSIM to install and no QR to scan again.
